As a photographer, taking pictures of groups can be hard work, especially if there are children in the group. Making sure that everyone has their eyes open, are smiling and looking at the camera is a tricky task and with young children especially can be almost impossible.

If you are struggling to get a nice group photo, sometimes it is nice to have action shoots, so taking images as people are talking to each other and interacting. If you have an instance where you need to get children to look at you, it may be helpful to have some props such as hand puppets or bubbles. Bubbles often work well with young toddlers and babies as they will watch the bubbles and often smile as they fall giving you the perfect opportunity for that shot.

Practice is vital in photographer and after a while you will find your own ways of what works best and how to take the images you need.
