Many parents will be well aware of the stress caused by nursery photos. The nursery will often advertise they are having a photographer come in on a certain day to take photos of the children which you can then purchase if you wish to do so. This sounds like a lovely idea, and as a parent of two young children, I was quite looking forward to getting a professional picture of them.
What many people don’t warn you about is the nightmare you can have trying to get the children to sit still and pose for the picture. Some photographers have a set way in which they wish the children to sit and as a parent this can make it almost impossible to get the perfect shot.
Ideally when photographing children you need to have a photographer that specialises in it and knows how to interact with young ones. Putting them at ease and understanding that you may not have a perfect front on shot of them sat still and smiling is all part of the job and a good child photographer will be able to work with what they can.
